About Me

I’m a creative problem solver who loves learning about the latest in emerging technology and science. I have a Master's in Human-Computer Interaction Design from the University of Colorado Boulder. Before that I was an IT project manager at Discover Financial Services, and before that I studied Informatics with a focus in Human-Centered Computing with a Minor in Computer Science.

As cliche as it sounds, my goal as a designer is to make the world better and improve people's lives. Even if that only means making someone's life a little less frustrating, a little more enjoyable, or saving them a small amount of time and energy. I'm a big picture thinker, unafraid to question the status quo, and always striving to improve my craft and be the best version of myself. I balance all of this with a desire for efficiency, an openness to listen and collaborate with others, and the ability to zoom-in and zoom-out on problems to understand both the fine-grained details and the broader strategic context. I see all problems and challenges as a puzzle with many interconnected parts, trade-offs, and synergies.

In my free time, I often go on long walks or hikes while listening to a podcast or audiobook. My favorite genres are history and fantasy/sci-fi, but I also enjoy science/technology, philosophy, psychology and of course design. I love spending time with friends, family and my dog. I also enjoy making art, particularly drawing fantasy style maps.
